Hi,

I have a gsxr 600 k6. I spoke to my garage today and asked if they could replace the ignition with a start stop button as I always forget my keys. ( Track bike )

They advised not to do it because of the factory immobiliser?

Surely this is common to ditch the key for track bikes ?

Thoughts ?

As soon as I load the bike on the trailer, the key goes in the glovebox of my truck.

I think Woodcraft sells an ignition eliminator.....

You need to flash the ECU first to disable the immo. Assuming you have an Euro bike and not a North American version.

I used the woodcraft eliminator on my 08 and it worked perfectly. Very easy, very straightforward. Check out their website and flash the ecu if needed.

Well, if you're going to remove the ignition cylinder and disable the immobilizer, why not save the money and effort and just leave the key in the bike?
