Is there a difference between the CA black box and the 49-state version?

the suzuki service makes no mention to the ignitor box being any different for the carbies models at least.........(750)

thanks for the response scott... well this is my dilemma:

I'm working on increasing hp for my CA version. The first step is to convert it to 49-state, as it is an easy 10% hp gain. Also, I am putting in a full Yosh exhaust and Jet Kit ... I now have all the parts needed to do the above (been collecting it over the last few months, looking for bargains) with the exception of ONE single part: a black box.

I've been told that the CDI unit needs to be changed too ... with the above set-up, I've been told more than once, and actually seen a 106hp dyno for an srad 600 setup that way. The only difference is that the person had a Yosh CDI Unit installed...

I'm wondering whether:

1) the CA version is a different CDI unit than the 49-state (it will be easier and cheaper for me to go this route, if indeed the 49state version is different)

and/or:

2) If it will be worth it for me to go with the Yosh CDI unit (much more expensive)

...so that's my dilemma

id say do it right the first time here......i never wannna think "what if's....." when doing mods...... i say go with the yosh, work a few extra hours this week, and reap the benefits bro...... i wish i could jus plug-in more power..
