SRAD 600 firing on two cyclinders Hellllpp!!

Hi guys my names Richy been biking for around 3 years have bought an SRAD 600 x reg (carbed) with the intention of saving it from the dreaded scrappy and was doing a good job until recently.
Before I bought the bike it had been sitting for 6 years so far I’ve replaced stator, battery, reg rectifier, sus bushes and bearings, swing arm, refurbed brakes, carb clean, TPS sensor, ECU, fork seals and various little bits. I actually got it through it’s mot as well without slipping the guy a few bucks.
but now she has decided to only fire on two cylinders 1 + 3 are not working. I have tried new ecu + TPS and change the plugs I have even tried switching the coils around but no luck.
Any advice guys I feel like my wages are going down the drain. My backgroud is working on compressors and used to work on cars as a Panel bearer so know how to work a multi meter etc.

Fuel flow is where most diagnosis starts. This is explained in the manual. Have you been through your fuel system, eg. Fuel tank, pump / filters, carby's. Time working on your bike is never wasted. (y)
yea, 6 years you did flush the tank right? try to find ethanol free gas if at all possible, I found it here at a Mavericks, its less expensive than 87.. and runs real fine, go figger?

check that tanks and clean, as mentioned go through it all, tanks, pump, petcock, carbs

refresh it all its all bout to go anyways so may as well rebuild it all, good prices now on those parts, I did my carbs for like oh, I had to buy a set of jets separate but all in all less than $150 or thereabouts, petcock was like $24 to rebuild and fuel pump, filter and filter boot was like $60?...

all well worth it, if ya can get a hold of CCMHunt and leave the carb worries behind, they will come ready to go bench synced plug and play and you can be rest assured they are done right and all settings base ready to go... I'd get a hold of the guy who just had a set done and go from there... well worth it..

gotta do the fuel system either way you look at it or you are just going to be pulling your hair out, its the ethanol in the fuel, ethanol is alcohol and alcohol snatches moisture out the air like nothing else.. and water is a carbed systems enemy.. thank god for Mavericks.... anyone else looking for ethanol free gas can go to pure-gas.org and find it closest to them..

may be worth getting a 4-5 5 five gallon cans and stocking up if its a ways away.. if not at the very least have some on hand for when your riding season slows down and you winterize.. fill with ethanol free, if its 88 add octane boost.. run it a while to get it int he bowls.. then block off your exhaust with a plug and then your air filter inlets.. tape it off or carve some air tight plugs.. they make air tight plugs for most all exhaust tips.. best way to winterize IMHO

pinch fuel line and run float bowls dry is even better, gas will eventually evap and leave varnish behind if one doesn't do this...

Hey guys been through fuel and cleaned tank I live in UK and we have 97 Octon fuel that I use from shell (I only use shell fuel) so don’t think it’s fuel. Swapped coils over and it still won’t run on cylinders 1 + 3 going to pull the coils and plugs out today and check compression also check how much voltage is going through the coils.
Will post on here tonight.

Right gents

plenty of compression but when I took the new sparks out they were clean very clean like new clean which is tell me there is not enough fuel or vacuum.
Attached a vacuum gauge on carb 3 which isn’t working and yup it’s showing -5ish instead of around -20. Can you adjust these carbs?

Have you checked the diaphragms in the carbs, also the tube that goes from the airbox ( rhs as you sit ) to the carbs, known to perish and cause issues.

hi bud,

checked and all fine. Diaphragms look good too.
Has she had a fuel flow test and petcock ( tap ) rebuild. Or tried pouring some fuel into the carbs to see if she fires on four.
Give me 5mins and will give it a try

poured easy startstraight into the down pipe and it’s now burning hot.

Hi bud removed carbs and completely clean number one is running a bit better number 3 still not entertaining. Was looking at some forums and the said it could be cause of the exhaust and to drill a hole to remove the caps of the air mixture do you know where they are on the mikuni carbs?
did you dip them or? each jet needs to be removed and cleaned 100%.. each passageway, the works, o-rings, chokes need to tight and operate. air idle screw cleaned, everything..

They were dipped in the parts cleaner and everything was stripped. Is the air screw under the brass plate?
You can just see the plate behind the fuel screw
