I am at the point where I will be changing spark plugs. I am considering trying the denso iridium despite the cost. Know they cost more but want to give them a try.

Anyway, service manual says 0.7-0.8mm spark gap clearance. I could set it on either side or even in the middle. I am just wondering what gap is best when using stock vs iridium. A friends suggested that the wider gap is better.

I do recall any threads here about similar topics and tried the search feature but it revealed nothing.

Thanks!

Dont gap the IX plugs, they will come pre gapped. IF you touch any metal to that IR surface the IR will be destroyed and the plug will be junk.

According to the FAQ, you can gap the IR plugs, you just cannot gap them like regular plugs. Mentions bending the ground strap to acomplish this.

Though I agree and figure, stock outta be good enough. Just wanted to get input.

What about regular plugs then? What are people here using for a gap?
