Yeah, $129.94.

You dropped $10k on a new bike and a $130 plate holder is too spendy?
You're missing the point. If I could've got a bike that performed and looked like the K5 that was brand new I would've spend less on that as well

Next question, is it legal? It seems to be. I will get one if it is. I was going to make one, but for $130 I will just buy that one.

Looks to me like the license plate bracket is mounted to a tab on the rear-hugger screw in the middle of the top brace of the swingarm. Interesting approach.

Am I correct in thinking the plate pivots when the shock moves?

No, the blue thing is a roller. Due to the location of the plate, the plate holder has to be on a hinge so the whole thing can swing as the rear suspension begins to compress. I`ve seen the product on bikes like the 600RR where the roller was against the hugger, it wears a deep groove into the hugger due to the force on the roller as the plate holder folds.

Thats one of the reasons I myself dont like that setup.

It can/will get you pulled over. Any plate location other than stock is generally considered illegal. Just something else for the man to harass you for. I've also heard of it cracking huggers as well.

Re: So can anyone on here fabricate one of these for cheap??

I was on the DMV site trying to find the legal ways to mount a plate. Couldn't find it. I thought it just has to be visible and lighted. The plate on my trailer is mounted behind the wheel and it tough to see. Anyone have any info on legal plate location. I'm in the ripoff state of NY.

Most of the cops around here never give a crap about a light on the plate so I am going to just get a swing arm mount and go that way.
