Do a search. There was a recent long thread on this issue. The poster eventually got a strong dose of the good sense beaten into him, if you wanted to know.

I'm aware of only 1 company that is still currently made, Gregg's Customs (should be an indicator that it's a worthless mod aside from the bling-bling purposes)............

It serves no performance improvement as it's both heavier and flexes more than a double sided piece. All race reams have abandoned them except for MV Augusta I think. The only real benefit to them in the past was faster rear wheel changes during races, but now since most raceteams use captive rear sprockets, even that benefit is gone.

Sounds expensive and un-needed on a street bike to me...
