I've read quite a bit about using Silicone to help prevent electrical connectors from moisture. I'm just wondering if there is a special kind of silicone that I need to get (ie: something that won't burn, etc.) and whether I can apply the silicone directly around an exposed metal connector (my rectifier connector has a burnt hole in it, which is exposing one of the metal connectors inside).

Thanks

Went to Lordco and CDN tire, but I couldn't find any Dielectric Silicone (there was dielectric silcone grease). I did manage to find Permatex High-Temp Red Silicone (whcih can be used for wire insulation. I'll give that a try.
