Hey

I'm a new GSXR 750 2012 owner, not super mechanically minded but learning - tinkering on my dirt bike before I touch the road bike! However I've noticed on the GSXR that the side stand is pretty much perpendicular to the bike, so pointing straight down to the ground rather than pointing slightly forwards. Because of this, when I parked on a foot path with the most MINIMAL decline, the bike toppled forwards and off the stand. Like there's not enough forward resistance from the stand. Is this pretty normal for the bike or should I look at bending the stand forwards/fitting a new stand?

Side note - I threw myself under the bike as it fell so the bike came out unscathed apart from a snapped clutch lever which I was replacing anyway. A few bruises to the thigh but all good.

Thanks
Natalie

Yeah it does seem to be opening all the way, my friend has an 09 750 and the stand points forward a bit. It was on pavement not grass. Just found it really odd, not sure whether to get a new stand or try and bend the one I've got... or if that's how this model just is. Thanks for your advice & thoughts.
