Do I need a kit to do this? I tried flipping the thingy that the rod connects to on the tranny but my connecting rod was too short so my shifter was way up too high. Can I get a longer connecting rod or something?

Ive done the switch [by accident] when i was installing the shifter rod

And from what ive read on this board, there is no need for any non-OEM parts.

A suggestion : Maybe u need to adjust the shifter rod to lower\raise the gear shift lever.

Just flip the lever in front. The lever arms on both the links should point straight down, and you should be fine.

ok, i tried just flipping the lever in front but it hits my lower fairing. Am I missing something here? All I'm doing is flipping the lever in front and adjusting the connecting rod to length.

this is really starting to bug me cos I know you guys have done it.

The little rubber boot thingy might rub on the lower fairing depending on the position of the lever... i just left mine
like that and it was fine...
