So I decided to switch over to full synthetic at 1850 miles on my K5.

The only full synthetic the dealer had was Repsol Moto Racing 4T 15W50. I looked at their site and it appears to be their high end racing oil. Anyone ever give it a whirl? Am I just splitting hairs when it comes to high end racing oils here?

Thanks bros.

This is what redline says about running thier race syn on the street.

RACE OILS
Red Line has a complete line of race oils strictly for
use in racing applications. They differ from the
Motor Oils in that they contain no detergents and
consequently have a slightly better ability to reduce
friction, but they are not suitable for long-term
street use which sees some low-temperature
operation.

are you racing? what might be good for race purposes might not be very good for the street. for instance, race bikes typically have their oils changed every 1-2 hour of use.

Nope, not racing. If it's got less of a lifespan I suppose I could just run it for a bit and then change it for some semi-synthetic I suppose, I just figured it offered better protection.

I do some spirited riding, but my main priority I suppose would be longevity. About how many miles could I expect through normal street use? I planned to change it again at about 3000 miles or so anyway. Should it last until then?
