how do you remove this puppy? just yank till it pops out? not sure so i dont want to damage anything...

what part of ot are you trying to remove? I wouls just take the arm off the splined shaft going in to the motor, then unscrew the shaft from the lever. One side is reverse thread, but I don't remember which.

the aluminium rod that connects to the shift lever assembly, its attached or seems pressed in like a ball and socket, seems like i could just pull on it to pop it out but i guess it could also be removed by unswcrewing...

guess ill find out when my new one comes in.

if you're talking about removing the shift lever you have to completely remove the bolt that holds it on.

yeah and the splined shaft that the lever sits on does not or shouldn't come out just by pulling on it,if it does ,your missing some parts!
