This is for earlier years but I think the same JAE connectors are used on the L3.

ShaoPo is working from the wrong side of the connector. Take a look at pages 4 & 5 here. It shows how to make a pin removal tool from a paperclip. You remove the orange cover and use the tool to release a retaining tang on the contact of interest. Removing the orange cover unlocks but doesn't release the contacts. Next look at page 5 here. The overall construction of the two row connector there is the same as the three row connector here. The tool is used instead of the screwdriver that is mentioned. But "gently pry up" isn't as informative as it could be. For that take a look here, which shows a cross section of the connector. The tool slides in from the left along the top of the contact until it reaches the tang and pries it up enough to release the contact. It helps if you slide the contact to the left a bit so that it doesn't inhibit releasing the tang. Once it's up, pull the contact out to the right.
