If you’ve bought a Suzuki motorcycle in the past few years, you might want to check out the list for the Japanese company’s latest motorcycle recall. Affecting 73,426 motorcycles from various product lines and model years (2008-2010), Suzuki has discovered a faulty electrical rectifier/regulator in its design that needs replacing.
According to the recall, rectifiers/regulators on bikes built between July 2007 and September 2009 have an inadequate amount of adhesion between the power module and the case, which results in the unit not sufficiently being cooled by its heat sink (affected Suzuki part numbers are: 32800-41F11, 32800-15H10, 32800-05H11, 32800-41G10, 32800-15H00, 32800-18H00, 32800-05G10, 32800-10G10, 32800-05H20, OR 32800-06G01). As a result the unit’s circuit board could warp, and become dislodged from its casing.
Should the rectifier/regulator start malfunctioning because of this condition, the motorcycle would improperly charge its electrical system, likely draining the battery, and possibly causing the motorcycle to stall. Suzuki will notify owners affected by the issue, and a Suzuki distributor will replace the affected part for free. The recall is expected to take place March 2, 2011, the affected models are listed below. Concerned Suzuki owners can contact Suzuki 1-714-996-7040, and as always the NHTSA is available at 1-888-327-4236 or at the safercar.gov website.

I find people pointing out a "repost" thread are more annoying than any accidental repost i've read. For every reposted thread... there are 40 idiots that post "repost... use the search function.... ban"

I would rather read a reposted thread (or not read it) than have to sift through 20 lines of others pointlessly pointing out that the thread is a repost.

end rant... have a nice day lol

now that i think about it, this is so fucking true. i hate when someone posts something up and here come these morons "repost! Repost!! REPOST!!!". if you knew it was a freaking repost why the fuck did you open the freaking thread for. you should of just thought to yourself "this is a repost, not gonna read that again" and let it be. if it wasn't for important reposts like this one i would have kept procrastinating about getting this rectifier thing done. so THANKS Speedmaniac750 for REPOSTING this recall thread and keep reposting as much as you like and just ignore all these idiots. :flipoff

Exactly psyko323...... is it considered cool to point out a repost or do people just feel obligated to take action..... oh shit..... a reposted thread..... not on my watch! I don't know why everyone can't see that calling out a repost by 30 members is worse than the actual reposted thread. And every forum is the same in this respect.

Here is my advice, do like the rest of us do, if you come across a reposted thread and don't want to read it.... hit the back button and move on :cheers

Took my bike to my local dealer and had it replaced in the quickness. Process was shorter than I thought.

No, never too late. Call your dealer and make sure they have the part or that they order it. Should take less than an hour and as short as 20 minutes. I had mine replaced right after the tsunami so wont be an issue now.
