Ok so i too didn't read this until now and just did a front and rear sprocket change with 520 conversion. Used a torque wrench on everything obviously, but didn't reach 67.5 on rear sprocket but they're on their tight. Should i undo and redo? I mean if they're on there tight what are my problems/ potential problems.

Good and tight, as long as not over tight, and with a cotter pin, will be fine

Wait... rear SPROCKET?.... You mean axle right? Sprocket nuts are only like 28ftlb or so.off the top.of my head (don't quote that)

Axle is 72.5 with cotter pin currently im fine there. Im talkin rear sprocket nuts. I went by original manual specs 67.5 ftlb. for sprocket nuts, but didn't tighten all the way to 67.5 cause i thought that was way to tight.

Im saying that they are on there tight, not to 67.5 ftlb. but tight, and I just saw this thread today about they should only be 43.5 ftlb. Im asking if that theyre on there tight, will i be ok or should i undo and retorque to 43.5?

I mean that's what this thread is about right, rear sprocket nuts should only be torqued down to 43.5 ftlb. And you are right its 28-29 if your using aftermarket nuts. At least thats what it is for me, but im using original nuts so.

Sorry. Just realized your post isn't the opening post. It is the first post on page two for me, so it looked like the first post... hence the confusion.

Also I was thinking the brake rotors at 28 :cheers

Ideally they should be torqued and done so evenly in a criss cross pattern. Especially on an aluminum sprocket. Cracks have been known to happen if done wrong. Rare but has happened.

It can be done on the bike probably but removing the rear wheel is so damn easy might as well..... coming from a racer who changes rear wheels sometimes half a dozen or more times a day lol

Its a different bike but all the torques usually are damn close.

Or print the three or so pages out of the manual.

Thanks man. Yea I mean im only on the street but i like my shit being on the money and squared away the proper way ya know. I'm rockin Driven-Evo Spec steel, dunno why didn't decide to go alum but whatever i guess.

Eh you mind checkin my other thread out on the NGK iridiums? Being a racer i think your input would be real helpful.
