not sure if its compatible or not but i came across a rear shock on ebay
from a 2002 gsxr 1000 and noticed the spring was yellow as opposed to mine
which is black from stock, i was wondering if that shock from a 1000 would
fit into a 600 and exactley what the differences in the two shocks were?
thanks for any info!

itll fit but its not better. an 04-05 600-750 would be abit better. they have different spring rates.

+1 will fit, 06-07 might fit since u have the unbraced swingarm, it may be a shorter shock though

I've used the '04-05 750 shock on my 2000 750.

I wonder if the K8-K9 shocks will fit on our bikes? Has anyone done it yet?

If you swap this is the one to put on it is a showa brand shock and has the best compression adjuster you never want to put a 1000cc shock on a 600cc bike they are valved differently internally. It should be the same lenght as your stock shock or around 5mm taller which will help your bike turn quicker.

so, if i'm hearing this right, a shock from an 04-05 600 or 750 shock will fit no problem??

What difference, if any, will i notice?

The 04-05 750-600 shock physically interchanges. The 04-05 is 7.5 mm longer in length which translate to almost 15mm in total ride height change, if sag is equal on both. According to racetech th 04-05 600 had a different spring rate than 750, but not by much. I have not been able to confirm this. Also had to slightly trim stock undertray to clear resevior.

Pic shows 01-03 vs 04-05
