no expert but definately sounds like the cct not taking up the slack correctly

from what i've heard, close the throttle at 10,000rpm and the chain could potentially jump teeth and eat itself.

alot have guys have fitted the ape manual tensioner as a matter of course, and some wouldnt turn a wheel until they had one in

ok...that must be it no more riding for me .....until i get some dosh to fix it..
I read the sticky tensioner thread ...but i dont think i can do it myself..
I'm just wondering can i just romove the old tensioner and replace it with the new one without going through all the other steps.

You can but not advised cause you really have to get under the cover to see what tension you have on the cam chain. Also you'll want to check the timing anyway (I also checked the valve clearances while I was at it). It is really not hard, just takes some time and patience. Print out the thread and go by that step by step. 2hrs. The APE is only $AUS100 but well worth it. By the way where is Aust are you?

My bike sometimes makes a little noise when I close the throttle also, but it is a light sounding metallic rattle. It sounds like there are a couple of ear-rings on the front of the bike clanging against one another. I don't think it is the CCT, but maybe it is, it doesn't do anything to performance or anything, and I surley don't feel it in the motor at all. I don't hear a single thing on the bike at all, so i think I would be able to tell if there is a major problem brewing. What do you think this sound is?
