Actual post from another froum....

From what I have been reading I see that it is better to start out with a smaller bike, now my body is telling me just buy an R-1 but my brains are telling me that I should buy an R-6 because it is a smaller displacement version of the R-1. Now money is a problem that is kind of pushing me to the R-6 its smaller and less expensive. So I want to see what other people say. Should I get a big extremely fast R-1 or a sleek and sexy R-6?

Get the R6, at your size and weight it'll be awesome! Since the new one is coming out you might be able to find some squid getting rid of his/hers to get the latest model. My girlfriend has no problems keeping with my GSXR1000 with her R6. I have even traded bikes with my stepfather who is 250 pounds and he had no problem keeping while I was driving his ZX-9 and he on the R-6. Do some research and you will see that the new 600's hold there own! In fact I think the R-6 placed in the top 3 above the R-1 a couple months ago in some multi bike shootout

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Personally, I'd keep quiet about that one

But, in keeping with the spirit of the forum...

The reason why your GF was able to keep up is obvious... Her bike has less numbers to weight her down. Any fool should know that a 1000 is going to be much heavier than a 6. It's 994 numbers higher!!!
That's why an R1 is King of The Road right now.

I sure hope Suzuki comes out with a GSXR-0 pretty soon. I'm tired of getting pushed around by Yams

What self-respecting squid is going to go out and buy an R6 when he can have an R1? I think this guy is just a troll...one of those pesky sensible riders trying to get a reaction out of the squid population.

If he's for real, he's got a lot to learn about being a squid. He shouldn't even have to ask that question..R1, without a doubt! Turbocharging and NoS, too....and stretching and lowering and polishing and....

if i was in your shoes i would get the R1..it will keep a smile on your face for a few years longer...when the looks start to sway. you'll still have the power...

if you havent riden a 600 b4 then i would advise having the 6..

money aint every ting....

Plus you cant get on a 1000 and ride like a punk...

YOU ARE ALL FOOLS.

The R6 is 6 times faster than the R1.

All beginners should start with the R1... would you start school from 6th grade? I hope not.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Let me say this, over the weekend I was able to ride an R6 through some awesome turns near Skyline drive. That bike is scary how quick it turns. My 750 is pretty damn light, but when riding the R6, it felt like there was nothing underneath you. Not trying to piss off the die-hard zuk fans here, but I think the Yam is a more capable 6 than the gixxer....

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">That's because you had the R6 in SuperStealthMode, which comes stock on the Yams. It makes the bike invisible, therefore tricking your mind into thinking there's actaully nothing underneath you. Yoshimura makes an add on for their EMS box that will simulate the same behavior on Gixxers.

BTW - What's with this thread? It's like the twilight zone. One completely ludicrous post (in keeping with the forum!) followed by another completely serious (and therefore, completely out-of-place) post?????
