Am I the only one who hates the term "Slab side when refering to the 1st gen gixxers?

Yep. I fucking hate it. When you 'phone a breaker and the say "Oh the '86. That's the Old Slabside is it?!"..... "NO mate. It's the first road going, factory built race bike..."
