Pro's.....in essense you now have a 1000.

Con's; Well you need to make sure you know the history of the motor you aquire. Also you need to swap out many electrical components.

I did the swap for a buddy, true con is it cost more than he expected by the time he got all the components. But he put a 03 motor in a 00 chasis, totally diffy electrical components on the entire bike.

Pro's 750 is smoother, more reliable, almost as fast as the 1000, parts are cheaper, insurance, less tire wear. etc

Con's: resale value wouldnt be as good as an original, Low end grunt not really good for track or taking turns.


I say keep the 750 motor, I race in heavyweight against A LOT of liter bikes. I usually smoke them all at the start, I use to drag race lol.

But on the long straights they barely pull on me. My 750 has 139hp
