ok i'm having a problem with my ride hopefully you guys can help me out.
bike: 97 750
problem: when the bike is warm (200+) and i shut it off it becomes very hard to start. it will crank but wont kick over..
and if i try to start it more than once it starts going dead.

im going to replace the battery and do the plugs this weekend.
but i just want any other opinions so i can look at it while i have it apart.
Also what should i gap the plugs to?
thx in advance

sounds to be a sure sign of the starter being/going bad. A hot engine is harder to start, ive learned. If the bike is allowed to cool off, is it once again easy to restart???

ifso, Id bet on the starter....

First check earths-battery to fram straps, and pos+ battery to starter relay to starter motor
scrap with knife if they are ok.
Check the battery volts if under 12.5v charge
for 1 to 2 hrs then std for half hr check volts
if still under 12.5v get new one.
If ok check wire loom from alternator to battery
as already stated.
