If they are the same size it won't mater but if they are smaller you will lose some power. Whats wrong with the ones you are using now?

Then I would switch. Find out the size on each and go with the bigger.

Dontilgon,

What year is your GSXR 1100????

Here's the run down of what SHOULD be on the bike from Suzuki for these years:

86-88 34mm CV Mikuni's
89-90 36mm CV Mikuni's
91-93 40mm CV Mikuni's

Hopefully this helps.

Good Luck with your carb swap, I am sure it is for power gains.

Cide,

My reference page states the 1100M came with 40's

What month does you black label(VIN) say on your bike??? Not sure...

Maybe so, an your are thinking they went to 40's on the 92 models in the US???

Are your 36's flatslides maybe??? and your bke had been upgraded??? Maybe they were changed before you got the bike.... Don't know.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">no it is not a high mount pipe. it will fit on a the passenger peg, but i removed the pegs for dragracing. so i built a hanger for it.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">j.d., the carbs on my bike are the original. they are not flatslides (i wish they were). i don't know the month on my vin plate right off hand but i will look at it and post it. the carb issue is very confusing because suzuki did so many different things to the same year model bike, depending on which country it came from. i wish it had 40's though!

Yup... U.S.-Spec 1100's never came witn anything larger than 36mm on the oil-cooled bikes... Canada got 40's but we never did. I think the 750 had a 38mm "slingshot" carb that is an easy swap, but my manual doesn't give any specs for the 750's, only `89-`92 1100's.

Someone asked about the Hindle High-mount and passenger pegs... yes, you *will* lose the right side peg; the can occupies the space that the peg used-to.

I belive in 1988/9 the gsxr 750 got the 38mm cv carbs... they would be an okay swao, but for more power try a set of Mikuni 38rs flatslides or some keihins....

Fella's

My apologies on the mispsrint of carbsizes, I got that list a while back and have been going by it for a while....

It came from Micke's Suzuki GSXR 1100 Page:

http://user.tninet.se/~lvn930t/history.htm

And I believe he is from overseas, which would explain the 40mm carbs for the 1991-on 1100's

Sorry.
