alright, tonight i put my jet kit in, and its runnin smoother and more powerful and everything, but i am still getting an rpm hangup around 4 grand after giving it full throttle. anyone know what this is?

ken,

one way to add a little hp to the midrange is to add an ignition (timing) advancer...maybe 4° or 5° might be helpful to your midrange

Try putting a shim in the needle That seems to help this problem on the 600s...

sounds like you may be a little on the lean side. How many times you turn the mixture screw out? try turning it a 1/4 turn out see how it goes then if no change turn back 1/4 turn then try needle shims if it came in kit

we didnt mess with the mixture screws cause the thing said that the stock setting was fine... but i can see what you mean about it being too lean.. well, back to the shop i guess!

it also may run a lil hotter sitting stil vs before that also a tell tale sign of leaness

wait, so if i turn the mixture screws out, the bike will run hotter while its sitting still than it does now?
