I literally bought this bike friday. It had a C46 code, because of exhaust system. So I decided to bypass it too get ride of F1 and red light. Now it will not start at all. The c46 code is gone. It shows -C00 when I first check it, but if I then try to start it, and pull codes again. Its showing C11. How could I have messed up the cam position sensor. When bypassing the exhaust value? It just cranks, but will not fire up. Some one please point me in the right direction.

what does c46 mean? What do you mean by "decided to bypass it"? what did you bypass? Sorry I have lots of questions for you the more I read your post. Do you know what the other codes refer to? You should be able to find a manual by searching the site. Why do you think the exhaust caused the code? Do you know the seller of the bike? Sorry bud, I would like to help-not trying to be a pain. We could use some more info I think.

So it seems like it started fine before you bypassed it and now that you bypassed it, it wont start. Trace your steps back and see what went wrong. Did you pull an incorrect plug from the ecu to "bypass" it? But if I'm not wrong the cam position sensor let's the ecu know when to spark the plugs, but in your case, it's not starting. If you bypassed the c46 code by pulling a plug from the ecu, try to plug it back in to see if it'll start.

C46 is code for the exhaust baffle. Actually in your mid pipe. I've done the same bypass on my buddy's k7. I did back trace, and put it all back where it was. Still nothing just cranks and cranks, but will not fire up. We even pulled ecu in put in my friends Ky last night. His bike fired right up. It's not an ecu issue. I just do not understand how I've damage the cam position sensor. Is there any way to test the cam sensor. To know its damaged.

Weird part is if I put it into deal mode. It shows -C00. Meaning no codes. If I take it out of dealer mode, and try to start bike. Then put back into dealer mode. It shows C46, and C11 codes. Like if it's off a while the codes are clearing themselves?? Also absolutely no mods other than. The slip on exhaust. No flash, no power commander, stock air filter. Bike is stock other that exhaust.

dealer codes clear every time you turn off the bike. Sounds like you got it figured out, but make a jumper or buy the dealer mode switch (plugs into that connector but only jumps the 2 wires and has a toggle switch) or make a connector while its running because its alot easier to have one handy so if you do get a code, you can pull up to your work area, leave it running, pop the seat off and check the codes quickly. I used some thick and stiff binding wire. I gut a 3 or so inch of it, bent it to fit those two bins and ground 45 degree edges on the ends. Works pretty well.

Buy a dealer mode switch. It's like $20. If you don't have an overheating problem, you can just leave it on while you're trying to sort things out.

I like illuminated pushbutton switches and realized that there was a 12 V lead to the dealer mode connector that could be used as part of a custom dealer mode switch. It's described here.
