I know this is something i hate to think about happening but how do you pick up your bike if youre out riding alone and have no help ?

crash cage help perhaps? i think the hardest part is getting the bike up the first little bit...

have you tried to lift your bike or do you just assume you cant? its not common to kick over your new bike and practice picking it back up again.

yea i was thinking about that helping out
theres a few disadvantages to a crash cage too. and im not sure if this will exactly fix your problem, but the bike looks like it is about 45* upright just laying there :lmao. and slow drops are not going to damage parts.

have you tried to lift your bike or do you just assume you cant? its not common to kick over your new bike and practice picking it back up again.
yea i tried, had it fall after a stall out making a tight turn :(
i tried picking it up as shown in that you tube vid but no luck

guess im not doing enough leg exercises then :dunno
I don't know... I use mainly my thighs muscles to push, so I don't screw up my back. At the beginning, I was trying the wrong way, bending over and trying to pick it up with my arms only. So it was very difficult. But by using the strength in your legs, that should be relatively more easier.

maybe im not trying hard enough.. all i know is the 400+ lbs is a bitch for me to lift

Ignore the dweebs that suggest your bike is too big ...they're not worth the energy. You're doing fine. EVERYONE will drop their bike given enough time, and very few can pick them up without help. We shorties just get to do it a little more often:burnout

99% of the time someone will come by and be happy to help. Sport bikes are light compared to most bikes, so they are easy for 2 people to pick up. You just have to see it as no big deal, and ask for help.

I loved the video saying to lay down next to the road to get someone to help. Very funny......

i dont mind the help, just sucks feeling helpless till someone arrives haha

A few years back I came up on a guy with a full dresser Harley that tipped it over right in front of me doing a u-turn. Turns out he was out for a TEST RIDE on a guys bike. :eek:hmy I picked it up for him like they show (since he had zero chance on his own) in the vid but it was one heavy bitch to get up. If you know anyone with a dirtbike, practice a few times with that to try to improve your technique without killing yourself. :cheers

The two times that one of my bikes were on their side my adrenaline was pumping so hard I just went all 'incredible hulk' on it and yanked them up. Both times were left side falls and I lifted from the left side in both cases.

there are a couple of ways to do it that work well for short women.

the first is to put your back to the bike, squat down and lift. again, back to the bike and squat so you're not using your arm muscles - you're using your leg muscles.as the bike starts to raise up, you can push against it more with your body.

the second option is to wedge your leg under the bike, foot first and slowly work it up your leg. hard to describe, but it works well. basically you use your leg as a ramp to work the bike up to the upright position.

The fortunate thing about being female, there are alot of guys who are very willing to run to the rescue of a damsel in distress. It's all about there ego's LOL
Sorry guys. Twice Ive had help. Once when I went over the handle bars and slid down the road. And the other day when my front brake locked up.
I do find being short in the legs and arms can make it hard to pick up a bike. It is possible but like they said, takes practice like most things in life. Never fear, there will be a gentleman out there somewhere.
