In the late fall I picked up a K6 gsxr 1000.
The only place this bike will go is the drag strip.
All my drag strip experience is with Buell and Harley...
I'd like to get some recommendations on what oil to use in the gixxer.

Indeed, those are both great oils. Just comes down to what's available to you, and how much you want to spend.

Any Good Quality FULL Syn. Motorcycle oil would be the way to go.

Don't worry about flamers. For the most part they're just someone that dose not know the answer to your question. But can't keep there mouth shut.

I should have went on to say. This oil will be getting changed often. And wondered if there was something other then a full synthetic I might go with. It just costs to much to be dumping out that often.

I use Valvoline racing in both the Harley and the Buell. But I don't know if I want to put that in the gixxer.

Amsoil 10w 40 is what I have used and for the same riding conditions. street and dragstrip. For hard use I would recommend a full synthetic motorcycle specific oil and I recommend the amsoil but if price is super important try out rotella 15w 40 diesel or there synthetic 5w 40 diesel there cheap and i heard of some people using that with good results again i recommend amsoil 10w 40 as your first choice though........
