OK, I gots a stoopid question... Jeff? You listening? Are the exhaust systems different for the oil-cooled 1100's and water-cooled 1100's? I always just assumed that they were since ever catalog I ever saw listed them as different parts, but I was on the phone with a dude at Cycle Gear this weekend, who tells me that he called Hindle and that Hindle told *him* that the system they sell fits 89-96 1100's... I questioned him about it, and he didn't change his story... so what's the deal? Can I use a system from a water-heater on my oil-cooled 1100? Or is the Cycle-Gear dude blowin' smoke my way?

I am not a 100% sure but they could interchange, I think it mostly depends on the spacing of the header, I however have a yosh pipe for an oil cooled 1100 taking up space, it needs a little tlc but I would be happy to get it out of the garage for around 100.00

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">That's really tempting... I have my heart set on the stainless Hindle... (is the Yosh system stainless?) ...my caviar wants have always exceeded my peanut-butter & jelly checking account. <shrug> Lemme see if I can wrangle this deal on the Hindle first... but don't pile any more boxes on top of that Yosh system, I might be asking you to ship it to me before the end of the month. You don't happen to have a jet-kit for an `89 1100 collecting dust in that garage do ya?

I am sure that they are different and the water cooled stuff isn't interchageable.

It's a full race Micron system that you want !!! with a stage 3 dynojet kit and twin K&N filters then knock a tooth off the front sprocket and you've got noisy, wobbly, wheelie fun !!

OK... now that the auction is over, and I won (woo-hoo!) what that was all about, Andy, is Simon was pointing out the Hindle system on eBay to me...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1810370913

This is the exact system that I wanted (although I looked at Micron, and if I coulda got the same deal on a Micron, I woulda done it in a heartbeat). Actually, I'm really glad and happy and grateful for the advice I get from all of you guys... our bikes are old enough that often when I call around and start asking questions, I get the kinda BS that the Cycle Gear guy gave me... wrong answers, dumb looks, and "I dunno" are common... so yeah, this board helps me a lot, and I'm glad that you're all here...

...even if I don't wanna bid in an auction against any of you...

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm a happy bloke now.
Yeh this site is superb and I'm glad that you got the pipe you were after, even if it isn't a Micron.......I've lobbed a full stainless system on mine and painted the wheels red etc etc this winter.......it's great to be back on the road and you are all a great bunch of people.........someone even offered me a pair of 750 mirrors for 0USD the other week.pity the shipping was $60 though.

Thanks to everyone for making this a family kinda environment.
