Do octane boosters really work? Would o boost really increase horse power in a racing application?

Octane boost will result in a zero increase in power. The octane rating of fuel is the number given to tell its resistance to detonation. Gasoline of all octane ratings have the same heat content when burned. If you want to pour in some hp try nutec special 4, but your bike has to be tuned for it. It has nasty additives that do actually add more hp, and it smells like it too. At $15/gal it is probably cheaper to have the normal go fast things done to the motor. Avgas uses lead for its anti-knock properties, but it still won't get you more power.

I would like to try some of that nutec fuel. It's $17 a gal here. You also can't leave it in the gas tank for more than 24 hours.

Octane booster is crap!!

I forgot to mention that in a fuel injected bike, Nutec throws a great flame out the pipe on decelleration. It is so impressive that it almost makes you forget to pass them. Almost.
