I’ve looked for relocation bracket etc. but horn bracket that the rectifier connects to is there but can’t see the r/r anywhere. How’s this possible? About to pull tank and air box and see what’s up bc I’ve had issues that I think are related to the r/r. And want to replace it. But also going to do the relocation from behind radiator but it seems to not be there. It’s 06 600. And I’ll send pics tom. But this is confusing me to death… SMMFH LOL.

It has to be somewhere. It could be on the back of the bike or Ive even heard of it being in the airbox.

Yeah I’ve found that out too. I’m hoping it’s not too aweful a job. But I’m thinking it’s relocated into airbox. Bc the wiring looks like it’s leading that way. And not towards back. Thanks for the info for sure. I’ll keep you posted. May try to open it up tom before work. And see. I am like 75% sure it’s in the airbox.

Oh and do you think I should relocate it from the airbox and put it to a bracket on the left side fairing or leave in airbox? Just curious. But if the works been done to put it in the airbox I’m kind of thinking of just replacing it in there. Idk what would be best until I get to it lol

If it's nicely mounted in the airbox then it's fine to stay in there, much cooler than being near the headers.

Yes I agree. I just have a charging issue and it’s not dying on me but put new battery in and it blew bulbs for a few and now isn’t but now starting to act like it’s not keeping a charge and I’m hoping I caught it in time that it’s just a rectifier replacement and not stator as well. But won’t know until I get in there and test everything. Thanks

It's a hotly debated issue whether that's a good idea or not. Some of these rectifiers have been known to go out in spectacularly fiery fashion.

Also, just recently we had a member who had an airbox mounted rectifier, spew its' insides out,
which was then conveniently sucked into the engine.
(NB. This was an install after the air filter.)

Yeah that’s what I’m worried about. I’ve not lifted tank to see exactly where it is yet but thinking I’m going to relocate it to left open side of fairing with the relocation bracket ya know. I feel like that’s safe bet

I’m skeptical about airbox mounting as well. Also that would heat the intake air so not sure if there would be a measurable difference but can’t help. Just relocate it into the stock relocated position and bust out your service manual to test it and test the stator. If either has anything wrong with it replace with Ricks or the updated oem version. My guess is there is something else going on with the headlight bulbs. Sounds like time to tale all the fairings off and have a look.

That’s my plans for this Wednesday and Thursday. Those my days off. So thanks for the help. Bc it seems like it’s wiring with the dimming when inlet off the throttle and brightens when it warms up a lil and/or it gets a little throttle. So it’s not getting reliable voltage from somewhere so I’m going to chase a short or bad ground probably.

Well good news and bad. I think it’s the rectifier. But the people whomever did this didn’t do an air box relocation so easy proper relocation bracket and new mosfet rectifier seems like will do job. This thing was zip tied in between left side fram above the motor not really much better than stock spot. But going to order the rmstator rectifier and don’t think any wires so far have been melted shorted. But keep you posted thanks for help. Just glad it’s not in the air box. Really appreciate this forum and all the great support from other riders out there. Thanks again. Will lyk how it goes in cpl weeks when parts come in bc I’m taking fairings off we’ll have left side off but going to replace header gaskets and bolts too bc found I’m missing one and it’s just ever so slightly gapped. Wouldn’t have noticed unless this happened anyway. So hope it’s a win win when the parts arrive

Rmstator is the brand and they make two different mosfet style instead of the diode style rectifiers and stators too. But they’re supposed to be really good
Check them out if u want. They have expensive ones to around 130-150 bucks for basic ones. I’ve heard decent things about them
