Hey guys,

Could someone clear this one up please. I was wondering which NGK Spark Plug number is recommended for the 1996 750.

According to the manual CR9E, but Ive heard guys recommend the "FineWire" CR9EVK also.

What do you guys recommend?

Thanks

Thanks GSXR-Freak, Ive got a feeling that was a mis-splel
anyway, he probably meant CR9EK.

What is the advantage of running the CR9EK over the CR9E ?

Thanks

the EK has two grounds and works more like a split fire plug. It is also a small amount longer, thus will help to bring the center of the spark lower into the motor and give you better burn, It also takes up more space and that helps to raise the ompression ratio (BUT a very very small amount)

Ok then explain to me the difference with a split fire and the NGK. I thought the idea was the same... just done in a different way.

I think splitfire's try to claim that the split leaves an open area in the middle so the spark "kernel" has more room to burn, or something like that.

The only benefit that I know on dual ground plugs is that they will last longer because there is more ground area to erode than on a single ground.
Since electricity always takes the path of least resistance, it will ground to the nearest ground, and once that wears away a bit and becomes further away, it will start using the oher ground, and this will continue back and forth until the gap is too large to fire.

i was being sarcastic, mainly.

splitfire is now no longer allowed to make claims about improved performance and fuel economy and whatever other nonsense they spewed before.....they were never able to prove that their product did what they said it did.
