On the plug that goes into my ignition there is a solid orange wire that is grounded but i dont think it should be. I need help understanding what it is please!!

Correct, the solid orange wire should never have continuity with ground.
With the switch in the On position, you are completing the connection between the solid orange and solid red wires.
When are you getting the undesired continuity? With the switch off, or on?
If it is with the switch off, it should be fairly easy to trace because the short must be in the orange wire which goes down to the big multipin connector, or on the black / orange wire in the main loom on the other side which goes to the fuse box.
Look for where aftermarket stuff has been added first. Alarms, phone chargers, lap timers, power commander etc.
