Hi all, first I'm new to the forum so HI to anyone who looks at this thread.

I have a brand new 08' 600 with less than 500 miles on it and I'm having a problem with it losing power when I'm cruising at lower RPMs, between 35-45MPH. I've taken it back to the dealership to fix and there are 3 OTHER 08's having the SAME problem. The dealership does not know what the issue is and is "waiting" for Suzuki to "call them back"! UGH!! I smell a recall but before I get too crazy, has anyone else had the same problem with their 08 and if so, what was the fix?

Please help!

PLEASE NOTE: The fix for my bike and a few others was replacing the O2 sensor. All under warrenty!

Could you describe what it is you're experiencing exactly?

OK, the problem happens when the bike is warmed up, usually after 10 min or so of riding. When I'm cruising at steady speeds, usually between 35 - 45 and RPMs at 6000 or below, sometimes it sounds like its sputtering and I'll lose power, RMPs going down, down, down... It doesn't die completely, it just loses the power. First time it happened, I did a newb mistake and started to open the throttle more...still dying...open throttle a little more...still dying...then BAM...power is back! :dunno

I wonder if we're going to be seeing a TPS recall in the near future.

Anyone else want to chime in?

Make sure you tell them to have a closer look at the TPS as what you're describing are symptoms of a non-functioning TPS.

I get this very very slightly on my bike...

It's really in the 3-4k rpm range.. and it's usually only when I'm riding out of my neighborhood.. otherwise I'd be higher. Good luck getting your bike fixed.. There's been several threads on this issue, and maybe there's a TPS problem. Whenever it happens to me it causes a reaction shift to a lower gear.. so I'll have to go out and try to replicate it tomorrow.

Yep, sounds like TPS may be the solution...but my dealership still hasn't checked that..even though there are 3 other bikes in service right now with the SAME problem! I'm not very happy and my husband and I have purchased a total of 4 bikes from them AND brought in two other friends who got their bikes there as well. Is this the way to treat a "loyal" (although not sure how much longer) customer?!

As far as a fix is concerned.. simply don't ride at that rpm. It seemed to happen once on my bike, and as I described before, I instinctually shifted into a lower gear.

And if you're already in 1st gear --- go faster! hehe

Snap the clutch in, too - get the engine spinning a bit, and it will come out of it.

I know it's not the answer you want, but I'd rather deal with a low rpm issue than have my bike sitting at a dealership until they "get a call from zuk".

The problem is that if it is a safety issue, they have the right to keep it.
