I don't know about other bikes but the mirror on mine I can not see directly behind me. my jacket and helmet limit my neck movement on the bike. I install a 7" monitor and temporarily mount the camera on the bottom of the plate. I went on many test ride to see how it will hold up. It hold up great, there was no vibration from the camera or the monitor. I am accustom to using my rear view mirror when stopping in my car to make sure no one dont run into me. I feel a little bit more secure with the camera.
who ever could see directly behind them with there side mirror let me know what type of mirror you have.
I also have a eq booster behind the windshield, two fosgate speaker at the bottom, and I use my cell phone for the source. I already order harddrive player with a 20gb capacity to replace the cell. the harddrive is small and will be hidden. It will come with a remote control. I will have mostly music on the harddrive with a few movies.
All of this do not affect performance or handling. surprisinly I could hear the music slighty on the highway, but the main purpose is for when I am park up or local riding. NO I don't plan to watch a movie while I am riding.

Doesn't look like you've got much in the way of mirrors, I wonder how the view compares to stock. I can see enough, and I turn my head to check when I feel the need to. My dad's got huge stock mirrors on his sport-tour bike, I can see everything out of those damn things.

If you clean up the wires on the cam and run it thru the tail it won't look that horrible. The speakers in the fairing look horribly ghey no matter what you do. Like somebody already said, it's not a damn goldwing :rolleyes

I've considered some bullet cameras for filming track/twisties riding.

I would admit the integrated mirror reduce view slightly but you still cant see behind with the stock mirror. The stork have to be longer. with the camera I could see directly behind me and the left and right lane

I don't mean to be negative or anything but I need to get this straight.
You cut holes in a set of $500(guess) fairings so you could install some cheap $20 speakers for all your peeps to hear as you cruise no more than 30 mph.:scratch

I would cut some more hole if I had the space behind. I did that all for me. its nice when you own something and you could do what you want with it. I like what I did to my bike and I'm not even finish. Now I am debating what type of leds light to put on. I have 3000k hid in the head light and 6000k in the highbeam. the ebay store mix up the color temperature with the two different bulb. I wanted 6k for the headlight and 3k for the highbeam.
once the speaker is in the hole it become a $520 fairing.:D

Its not a fucking honda civic for christ's sake man. Save the ricer mods for your dork winged and fart piped 4 wheeler.

Put on some mirrors and don't be a lazy fuck. If you are so out of shape your neck doesn't turn enough to see out of your mirrors you probably need a Road King.

someone with 12k post should know by now that sportsbike mirrors are limited in view, also helmet design also play a part in this too. I guess these are on the market just for me http://www.motohaus.com/acatalog/Suzuki_Mirror_Widener_s.html

I guess I am the only one that see my shoulder in the mirror. I am just curious to know who can see directly behind them with their side mirrors. I feel better seeing behind me especially when I am about to stop, sorry if I commited a crime in the motorcycle world. by the way my civic750 got a cigarette lighter socket that I install:D. I will let you know about my other mod when I do it.

How does that rear tire affect the handling?
well I am always willing to answer a newbee question. I am a newbee myself just want to bring that out if you don't know. The wider tires will make it more difficult to turn but not impossible. you will not be going in a straight line. its not recommended for a newbee like myself, but that is what my bike came with and I am use to it by now. I hope I was helpful. Now do you have any comment on my multimedia bike :D
