Seriously? Good thing the current CBA is up after this year because that's fucking ridiculous. The guy has never even taken a snap. Howie Long made the comment last year when his son was drafted that his rookie contract was worth more than Howie made in his ENTIRE Hall of Fame career.

Secondly.... now there's officially no reason to watch the draft. I just catch the rest in the box scores. Way to go NFL. :banghead

there definitely needs to be a rookie salary cap. :banghead Stafford's contract can balloon up to 78m if he plays 35% of snaps this year, 45% rest of the years and makes the probowl.

1st pick max of $15m for 3 years guaranteed plus incentives based contracts or something similar.

That's just stupid right there. Making the ProBowl within the first three years or just over the entire 6yr contract? Making the ProBowl within the first three years for a NFL QB is quite rare and would be a great disqualifier for the team to hold onto that extra gravy.

That's plenty IMO. I mean $5mil per year isn't exactly being paid like a popper compared to what he would be doing if he wasn't in the draft.

They need some kind of rookie salary scale similar to the one in the NBA. Brining in a new player for a HUGE contract is a smack in the face to vets. Play prove your self then collect your check. But at least they got the deal done unlike the Raiders when they drafted J Russell for some ungodly amount of money and he missed the first half of the season in holdout status.

I'm not too sure of the specifics Jer. What I had read on the ESPN ticker. :dunno

Agreed, half these guys in the league would be flipping burgers were it not for football.

Not to hijack the thread but what do you feel about the niners taking Crabtree? Im glad we got a good WR but he better flipping perform.

I would have rathered seen the niners trade that pic away to arizona and try to get boldin

Him performing is not gonna be an issue, the only issue with Crabtree coming in whether or not he listens to Singletary and actually starts portraying himself as a good human being. If all goes how it should, Crabtree should end up to be a boldin-like reciever. Hes definitely gonna be a good one.

If you ask me, I could get more talent if I trade away the first pick. Give me a couple good established vetrans for a #1 anyday. Im not the type to gamble, plus I think that now days getting #1 is a penalty for sucking the year before.

In defense of the lions, they HAVE to do something dramatic to turn things around. Do i think that the qb situation is going to fix it, absolutely not.

That being said, Calvin Johnson is my FFB keeper...:punk

i can't wait until stafford flops. you can't do much as a qb without a line. i don't care how good he was in college, lions don't have a line so he better be good at running.

:lmao:lmao Good choice in keeping Johnson. Im actually looking into starting a Keeper league this yr.

Yeah Crabtree will be good as long as he does exactly what he's supposed to and not try to be a TO, Keyshown, OchoCinco etc etc:scared
