Hi, I have a k8 750. Whilst investigating a separate electrical issue, I popped off the rear seat/pillion fairing and found a connection had corroded and snapped off. It was connected to a light emitting diode that was mounted in the rear turn signal unit. I can’t find any reference to this light emitting diode on line i.e what purpose it serves. Wonder if anyone else has come across it and has any idea what the hell it does?? All turn signals seem to be working fine by the way.

The only thing that comes to mind is the license plate light. It was probably originally incandescent but fender eliminators commonly use an LED light. But "mounted in the rear turn signal unit" sounds like it's right next to one of the turn signal bulbs, which would be strange.
