Hi

I would like to hear what was your longest interval on one chain/chain tensioner. Also, was tensioner ticking?

My chain and tensioner have 50.000 miles and tensioner begining to make ticking sounds on idle (till cold)

My question, what would the CCT sound like just before it clicks to the next ratchet, noisy ?
Original poster, Cam Chain Tensioner, is automatic and will jump to the next ratchet some time.

The teeth on the tension adjuster plunger can become worn/damaged, which causes it to not function properly. You can remove it and inspect for damage. K5-K8 used the same adjuster but it received a significant redesign for K9. The redesign looks better but I don't think that it will retrofit into earlier models.
