My guess is all which is needed are:

The K5 wiring diagram is available in color on scribd. Should be close enough for your purposes.

What about the speed sensor leads? Seems a bit suicidal to not have the oil pressure indicator light connected.

Sorry BillV, what is scribd?

To give you some more background, I have to K6 engines in the back of a mini, I am tyring to use one dash with change over switch and external lights for oil and neutral. The speed sensor I'm not using.

so Far I've worked out

Blue/Black - Neutral light
Blue/Yellow - Hi Beam Light
Lightgreen - turn indicator right
Black - turn indicator left
Green/Yellow - Oil Light
Pink - wheel Speed
Black/Red - wheel Speed
Black/light Green - Fuel Level
Red/Blue - LCD Back Light??
Orange/Green - Ignition live
Black/white - Ground

My guess is one of this is the Engine RPM and the other sends digital info to the dash??
Yellow/Blue - ???
Black/Green - ???

Can anyone help me fill in the blanks, and tell me if any of the above is wrong?

Thanks

Jim

Here's a few but it's in the diagram:
R/Bl always 12V (keeps the clock ticking?)
Y/Bl tach
B/G serial data
Or/G switched 12V (maybe it's the backlight and other things that shut off)
B/W ground (note that sensors on the bike have their own signal ground system B/Br)
B/R power to speed sensor? (believe it's a Hall effect sensor)
P speed sensor output signal
B/Y high beam (not Bl/Y)

BenS's link will get you there but it's faster to use http://www.scribd.com/doc/11804325/GSXR1000-2005-K5-Wiring-Diagram.

Should be an exciting mini.
