Hey Guys..

Whats the best break-in procedure? Im number 3 on the dealer list..
Cant wait on arrival of mine, dumped my K4 at track in December
and have been bikeless now for a month after my insurance wrote her off

I wonder how soon we will get ours in South Africa?!

This topic has been beaten to death numerous times.

There is basically two major opinions on here. The mototune way, ride the piss out of it from the word go, or the manual way which means babying it for the first 600-800 miles.

I am breaking it in as I have done with all my bikes, the "medium" way. Not too soft and not too hard, changing gears more frequently, use a lot of engine breaking, never ride on high gears on low rpm's and changing oil more frequently the first 3000 miles. First oil change at 300 miles.

Just my advice

Here is how I am going to do it........

First 100 miles of easy roll on and off under 7500 rpm. Then change non-syn oil and filter.

Next to 500 miles of easy to moderate roll on and off under 9500 rpm. Then change to non-syn oil and filter.

Next to 1000-1500 miles of moderate to hard roll on and off under 9500 rpm. Then change to full synthetic and filter. After that it's full power to redline any time I have the opportunity!!!
