The local shop couldn't complete it before Monday so I struggled to get my welder working and then ended up taking it to a buddies. Put bandage around the patch and it seems to be working well enough lol, no more skin melting heat and that will do until I talk to hindle/other options for rebuilding or recreating the muffler. Do you think hindle could build a performance version of the TM? 😂

Hey curious what was the outcome of your story since that seemed like your last post on this topic???
Wow that sucks...in 2012 picked up a used 2007 K7 1000 which came with a TaylorMade already installed. Now i had just came from 05 GSX-R 600 and Polished Chrome slip-on side mount was still the trend... Lol dam i miss a-symmetrical side mount look. Plus you can use the exhaust as a mirror to fix your helmet hair as you're taking your gear off.. Lol anywho
I know how you feel the first time i saw that flush under mount concept i was like wow my entire understand of beauty was shattered.. so fast fwd to mid 2014... i notice my foot getting really hot as i just exited the freeway and just my luck a CHP pulls me over. tells me my exhaust was way way too loud. i was worried because i actually had taken the exhaust apart so i could empty the guts to give it a better sound and improve restriction flow

so i thought to myself man this is what i get for modifying stuff. I try to BS him this Aftermarket exhaust is CA emissions compliant so it cant be that loud. hoping hell just let me go to which he says no its like you don't even have a muffler. now always have earbuds in so i don't hear anything other that music blasting but the bike is so loud without out plugs you really don't hear traffic or people honking anyway. he tells me to start the bike so there would be no excuse that Loud is subjective from person to person, let me tell you i thought it ran on gun powdered to which i looked down and realize the tale cap of the exhaust was not attached to the can anymore which explained why my foot was soo hot even with jeans a boots on... i later road back the way i came and found the cap flatten like a pancake it blew off the can and went under my wheel. the Cop said hed just let me off if go straight home which i was headed having just finished a stroll through the canyons.
on the ride home i brainstormed on ideas to repair the TM originally exhaust as taylormade only has a 1yr warranty for these items. when i got home and examined the cap that blew off i knew there was no way i was going to unflatten the cap. and a new exhaust ass going to an arm and a leg.. nor do i have a receipt for it since i bought the bike used with the exhaust already installed. unwilling to buy a new one i figure i'd just call them and explain everything. and hat you understand its out of warranty but and blow them real hard about how you love their company and perhaps they had a a bad batch of material that caused this failure because the taylormade you wont shutup about when the topic of motorcycle accessories and parts comes up. makes quality parts. The majority of American companies that have limited warranties will gladly make an exception if you come across as a genuine loyal customer who represents their brand will or someone who might cause a big fire storm and bash their company unless they address their issue...basically is giving them or telling them to piss off going to cost more or less than if i don't just replace this for them.. even though they its out of warranty, doesn't even have a receipt because they they didn't even buy it. but GOODWILL with a customer is worth its weight in exhausts... Lol sorry if this was TLDR just to tell you they replaced it because i was nice and the customer service lady was really nice too. Also in 2014 they seemed to already know that it was a problem and they had redesigned it by then... and i still have that exhaust on that same bike since 2014 and haven't had any issues still
knock on wood
