Hey guys, I got my 1k with a taylormade and love the look. I spent hours looking online at others and just never found one that looks as good IMO. But as everyone always says the quality isn't great... My can blew it's top during a colder night a few months back and now the heat from underneath isn't bearable.

So for my question, are they still kicking? The two websites I have found(Taylor Made Racing & https://www.taylormade-exhausts.com) seem to be down/garbage and I am wanting to get another, I can't seem to find them on ebay or anywhere else really.

Thanks!

And for the TM haters, fair enough but I just don't like the look of the M4🤷‍♂️😋

No. See this. Ironically he's involved in some other bike related project at essentially the same address.

P.S. Here's what I was referring to. Don't know what it or the Australian connection is about. But you can see the Talormade website and phone number. John Keogh may have been a designer there.

It also occurs to me that the molds for the various products might be kicking around somewhere. I always thought that Taylormade's shark fin was the best.

Old Article on the exhaust.

The business might have gone under, any way you can fix your old exhaust?

On that first website you sent i was never able to read the text because the image is stretched beyond my screen for both PC and mobile haha. I'm not sure about fixing it, theres a good sized hole on the top and I don't know of anyone around where I live who could fix it 😅

Thank you for searching around😁

I ran into this website a few years back. Their product looks like a Taylormade clone. Unfortunately they don't make them for our bikes. If you happen to also own a little more later model to the K7/K8 you may be in luck.

I saw that website as well but I have a K8 sadly. I wonder what the quality is like on those

It sounds like your CF is OK and the metal muffler has failed. IIRC that was the weak point of the Taylormade systems and what gave them such a bad reputation here. I specifically remember people fuming about the pop rivets. There used to be a poster here named Toro-something that built a supercharged K7 and had a long thread about it. He built a custom underbody muffler as part of the project and something like it might work on yours. It didn't look that difficult but he was a skilled fabricator. Unfortunately I think that most of his pics have vanished, as has him. But search and see what's there.

I talked to a local shop that can rebuild it or at minimum attempt to repair it with welds. I'll have to rip it off the bike and have them see, do you know if it's totally titanium(I heard it was titanium anyways)

To bad this was not cheaper, not sure if you could have used the muffler part for parts.
Not a bad idea but the muffler has a different shape, for the K8 it looks like it's an extruded oval lol

Could easily be wrong but I don't think there's any titanium in it. You might consider asking Hindle if they would repair it or if they can recommend someone.

The guy's name was toro1. His custom muffler was described here but, as mentioned, all the pics are gone.

Hindle is US right? Might be better to see if they'll custom make something instead of shipping it out and back, getting my full license in a few days and have to drive for it so I'll need to figure out something in the meantime otherwise I'll melt more electrical tape under my ass lol

I gather that the Taylormade is installed in place of the OEM catalytic converter. The instructions don't mention doing anything to the PAIR system. I wonder if the popping associated with the PAIR system is creating pulses that are too strong for the muffler to handle. Blocking off the PAIR might be a significant help. But you'll have to fix yours first.
