In search of 04 05 600/750 fork rebound adjuster/cap assembly

I bought a front end for another bike and the rebound adjuster appears to be damaged, and I can not find information on how to disassemble the cap/rebound adjuster. Does anyone have an extra they would be willing to sell for not too much money? I am basically looking for the full assembly that I can just drop right in.

Thanks!

Part #10.

As for disassembly, you'll want a service manual. Taking it apart is pretty easy, but there is a procedure for reassembly that must be followed. Or have someone PDF just those 10 pages or so for the fork. You also need some special tools. If I were in your position, I'd buy the new part, and new seals/wipers. Then take everything to a shop and have them service it and install the new parts in the process.

Thank you, I have seen this diagram and I did just finish a full rebuild of these forks with all seals, bushings, etc with the exception of that is inside the cap/rebound assembly. I could not find any information on how it comes apart but I would sure like to rebuild it myself since I already have the components if you have any info on how the rod and everything actually comes apart?

Otherwise I figured I would try my luck on here to see if anyone had an extra laying around they would let go for not too much money :giggle:
It's threaded to the internal adjuster. Once you pull the little retaining ring at the top for the preload adjuster, it's pretty obvious. Really no instructions needed.

Got it, I had the preload adjuster all the way out so I didn't see the retaining ring . Thank you!
