Mine didn't change the peak #'s at all... I didn't expect it to. It *did* shift the whole trace to the left a little on the dyno chart, and at one point (about 4200 RPM) you can see where with the advancer I'm making about 10 ft-lbs more than without. It *definitely* made the motor feel "snappier" at lower RPMs.
you could put it in with your eyes closed. take out the 6-7 bolts, remove the cover, unscrew the center bolt that holds on the adv, slip it off, slip the new one on and reverse process from there. it is idiot proof. there is a slot in the advancer so it can only go on the right way. have fun!!
