Hello guys . I have gsxr 1000 L2. I changed sprocket +2 rear but speedometer shows me 299 anyway. want to test its real 299 or speedometer counts wrong.

I try some applications of speedometer on my android phone but none of them works well becouse almost all of them have speed limit and can not count 300km . So please if anyone know good application for my mobile to test my speed normaly please tell me the program

Can't help you with an app but will say speedometer is wrong. Speedometer was wrong from the factory anywhere from 5-12%. Mine was off 9.58% from the factory with stock sprockets.

No but it will be less then before you changed the sprockets. As for even guessing what top speed you can/could achieve, that is impossible as there are so many variables to take into account.

And one question . I know that even stock motorcycle does not show real speed in speedometer but it writes 299 . And when changing sprockets even if you will change -1 +6 speedometer will write 299 anyway ?

The speedometer cannot exceed 299 kph (186 mph) which is the maximum speed the bike can achieve under perfect conditions by agreement of all motorcycle manufacturers.

If anyone know with -1 +2 on gsxr 1000 what will be mine real top speed ?
Off the top of my head you'll be losing 15mph+ from the top end with that gearing

Oldgixxer I will lose 15 mph but in speedometre will be written 299 anyway ? Or it will write maxumum 280 on speedometre ?

Does it matter? Even before the sprocket change, factoring in a 10% for speedometer error, your speedo says 299 but in reality you were going 269. Odds are you were not going to get a true and authentic 299.

I understand that its not real 299 even factory sprocket but speedometer shows 299. But i am interested if i will change sprockets speedometere will write same 299 or less ?

If it shows less, just modify your ECU for a higher rev limiter, that'll fix it.

OEM speedo error is approx 6%. On stock gearing (or 43T at the rear) my L3 showed 275 kph on the GPS vs 299 kph on a speedo so I bought Healtech X-TRE + Speedohealer and now it's 100% accurate. Currently I'm using -1/+2 520 conversion so my top speed is lower than stock but who cares when bike rides better.. :)

It's gunna show 299, but you won't be going anywhere near that fast. Use a GPS, or buzz a cop. That's the best way to get your actual speed.

Disclaimer: the cops gunna be pretty offended when he tells you how fast you were actually going.

Speedo healers can be used to correct the speed, but will throw off the mileage. You get one or the other.

Not necessarily - I've seen bikes gain top speed with lower gearing. It depends on RPM at top speed, and where in the torque curve it falls.

That's because the speedometer is reading the engine output shaft, not wheel RPM.

Off the top of my head you'll be losing 15mph+ from the top end with that gearing
Assuming you can reach redline with stock gearing, and also with the new lower gearing, yes. More likely you're not hitting redline to start with.

That goes against what every racer and anyone who changed their sprockets have said here but not going to argue it. As I have never monkeyed with my gearing and can only go by what others have reported, people like Moto_joe, Oldgixxer, SVS, Ant but I'm sure they don't know anything about these things.

600s don't have enough hp to reach rev limit in 6th gear so you might gain top speed with lower than stock gearing. Depends on the bike...

One guy was doing standing mile events and got the best result ~274km/h on his K1 750 with -1-1 gearing.
