Hello i had 2009 GSXR 1000 and it have tokiko calipers and i have done cleaning on it

For now i have 2014 gsxr 1000 wich have monoblock Brembo Calipers. I want to dissamble it and clean everythig . Is it possible ? Is there anything different from tokiko wich i have to know not to damage somthing ?

Need a bit instruction to clean monoblock and dissamble pistons for cleaning. Mabe its neessesery new seals or somthing if you are dissambling brembo .

I literally rebuilt mine yesterday. I may post a how to video, it's quite easy. The trickiest bit is taking the pistons out, I use circlip pliers so it grabs the piston on the inside, doesn't scuff the surface where it meets the seals. There is a special tool which essentially does the same thing and is ridiculously priced considering what good quality circlip pliers go for. You could also just put a rag or old tube to stop the metal on metal contact, better yet just buy new pistons.

Only use brake fluid to lube up the seals and pistons when putting them in. Pay attention to the orientation of the seals, they do have a lip, high side is away from the center for the fluid seals.

I used heaps of brake cleaner, various brushes including tooth brush, picks, and air compressor to make sure all the gunk was out.

When putting the pistons back in, apply generous amounts of brake fluid, and push them in square.

Please let me know how you would compare the newer brembos over the mono block tokicos.
