okay, so i went to the dealer today, and he told me that if you finance a suzuki that you do not need full coverage. he said they only required liability. what effect would this have on the grand scheme of things?
I would stay away from that dealer:dissapointed, Any bank that finances anything is going to require that you have full coverage insurance! Even Suzuki finance!

ok, im lookin to buy a honda CBR 600 rr, for my first bike (i know i know, your ALL gona yell at me and say that i shouldnt get this for my first bike....and im sorry :( but to me, it would seem like a waste of money to buy a 250, get bored, and have to spend MORE to get the 600. ive drivin dirtbikes, ive driven Goldwings and other cruiser bikes, so i think if i TAKE IT SLOW i should be alright, and i live in the country. not much traffic, good place to practice) ANYWAYS, im in iraq as of now, and i found someone on my car forum, and he has a CBR 600 RR, and my GOD its sexy...



anyways, im not there to do all those checks, i dont have ne one whos gona drive there to check it out for me (its in GA, i live in DE) so i dont know if i should make that drive to find out its shit, or just risk it and take it. im pretty sure i know the answer, i just wanted to ask...

a little backround on him, he is in charge of the car forum and seems like a sincere individual, and he wasnt looking to sell it, it wasnt for sale or ne thing, i jsut posted that i was lookin for a bike and he said i got one, i could let it go i guess .

so idk :/ it seems lagit...but im not too sure...

You got to be willing to be patient and willing to walk away. When your spending this kind of money you want to spend it wisely.

Hi guys

The names Chris new to the site and was looking for a bit of advice. Looking to buy my first Gsxr-6 . I have about €2.5k to spend and was looking for some advice on which model to choose. 99 model or the 02 model. I love the styling of the 99 models and they are that little bit cheaper coming in at about €1.5k but reviews say you need to be in the 10k revs/min to get any thing out of the engine. Where as the 02 model has a better mid range power delivery. Besides this how are they on maintenance, spare parts falts ?

Id prefer the older model but which is worth spending the money on ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I picked up a new 6 on Tue. Love the bike. Here's what I did and I buy a lot of new bikes. I called 3 dealers and went to two. It helps to know what others are paying too. I traded in an R3 with 1000 miles for the Gixxer and paid $7200. That was a couple hundred dollars less than the other dealers were willing to go. It helps if you are ready to buy right then. Just walking in and asking, they will just give you the msrp plus their add-ons. Only deal in OUT THE DOOR price and if you want gear or anything else from them...extended warranty, maintenance contract, filters, etc. make that a part of the negotiations. If you want the bike delivered, ask about that...is it free? If not, have them throw that in too. Although $7200 was my final out the door price..and I had them throw in $79 worth of parts (for another bike), The dealer I bought from started with $8125. The best I could get from the other dealers was $7700. You need to be ready to go pick the bike up right then or they won't likely give you their best price. Don't be afraid to walk away and don't have your heart set on one bike. I shopped for a 2012 Gixxer 750 and couldn't get the price I wanted. At a second dealer, they had a left over 2011 Gixxer 1000 that they wanted to get rid of cause the 2013s were just coming out. I decided the 1000 would be fine and finally got it after 3 days of haggling for $200 more than the best price for a 750 at the other dealer...$8400 plus my 3013 Ninja 300 trade-in. It was a fantastic bike.

A few extra points (I know this is an old thread):

- Do you have a bike to sell? A trade in is easy but you won't get more than book trade value for the bike, if it's older it's best sold privately so you have the cash in hand.

- Main dealers (e.g. Suzuki) charge more for the same bike than smaller dealers

- Private sale/ebay is the cheapest but carries the most risk. I if the bike dies or turns out to need a lot of work you don't have much comeback.
