After almost 5 months she's finally completed. I took her for a ride earlier and cannot get the smile of my face.

There you go buddy... Simon

the paint is sweet, and I like the seat also. On my old 86 I had a white seat.
I am thinking of having my new 86's seat redone in white again.

The color scheme is a bit like the old GSX 550. But that makes it a perfect sleeper ...

Aksman,
So, you painted this with duplicolor, right?

My question for you is, how did you protect the gas tank from the gasoline?

I'm close to finished on painting mine (black and silver) with duplicolor "autospray" (acrylic lacquer). It looks really good, but I spilled a little gasoline on the clear coat (four days cure time) and it marked the coat pretty badly. I sanded it out and buffed it again, but I'm afraid if this continues.

Hey Dinoracer.
Good question. I have had the same bad experience and had to re-spray a complete part of the fairing as it went all the way down to the primer. Perhaps we could ask this question in one of the other forums. I too am concerned about this.
