Haven't ridden in 6 years and was test driving a 750 with only 6 miles on the odometer, and missed the 1 - 2 shift and hit 13000 rpms in neutral...

Would this be a bad thing?? I know about the proper break-in and that is why I am asking. I informed the salesman and he did not seem concerned.

Most racers will break in thier bikes on the dyno or track. It may hinder the life of the engine a little bit but IMHO it is not bad to get her up to redline in the first 600 miles. If I was going to be using that dealer for all my warranty work though I would NOT have told them, warranty void at that point as far as they are concerned.

Don't worry about it.
It should be fine.
Wouldn't recomend it again for a few more 100'd miles.
That's what a rev limiter is for, else it wouldn't be there....lol

You'll be ok.
