I was talking with my buddy who stated that Ben Spies raced a 750 in the 1000 class one time, maybe at MidOhio course. but I can't seem to find anything on google. He said may have been around 2002 or so.

anyone remember that far back?

It is possible, you can always race a lower-cc bike in the higher classes.

If he did, he didn't do very well on it.
