I stripped the oil pan at the drainplug hole. Is there a way to helicoil or retap and use a oversize drainplug? If so what size plug, and thread pitch or helicoil size etc.? Is there a kit somewhere that would include all the parts to repair?

Its for a 2000 GSXR750

Thanks in advance

Just take off your old drain plug take it to the auto parts store and ask for 1mm over size extruded/self taper bolt. Follow the instructions and your set.

I used a 1/2" 2 size up self tapping oil drainplug from Advance Autoparts. I have just one more question. When I change the oil the next time should I switch over to the 1/2" 2 size up non self tapping bolt as I see the package says "use only with stripped oil pans"

Thanks
