Didn't really know where to post this, but if I move to CA, what happens to my '90 1100?
Are there any requirements for out of state bikes?
I was wondering about the CA emissions and stuff like that.
I'm sure some of you must have picked up out of state bikes before.
What's the procedure?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

The only time the emissions matter is on a brand new bike.

I don't believe the California DMV checks the emissions stuff. As long as the paperwork are in order you should not have any problems with it. Also, to avoid paying extra taxes you need to have over 7500 miles on the clock.

I bought a RG500 that was registered in Michigan. The only thing the guy at DMV did was to check the paperwork, the bill of sales, and that the VIN's match.

yanc is correct, the DMV don't check emissions. Just need over 7500 miles to satisfy them. My own 750 is a 49-state machine and I have no problems with registration or anything.
