It's been a while since i've ventured in here ladies, how goes it?

Down to business, I'm looking at gifts for my girl. I already have xmas taken care of but her bday is january 29th. While she doesn't ride herself, she'll occasionally hop on the back. She has expressed interest in learning how to ride. I was considering getting her some riding gear. Right now she just wears all my spare gear which is a bit large on her.

So ladies, I know you go shopping all the time (even if it's just browsing for gear because I do the same for myself). Tell me what you think of this idea and if you've seen anything cool on the market lately.

Oh and if you think you're good at guessing sizes, I'll post up some pictures.

Thanks in advance for the help. :cheers

1st, if you go mail order, be sure they have a great return policy. Some charge a substantial restocking fee. Can't remember if m-s superstore does. So read the fine print about returns! I use newenough.com a lot. Their shipping and return policies can't be beat, plus the bargain basement prices are superb. They also have lots of great pics of each item and will answer questions quickly.

2nd, those big pockets on this jacket can be a problem for many figures, especially the upper ones. If she can't try the jacket on, something simpler is usually safer.

A gift certificate or "shopping day" (if you have a shop with good women's gear not too far away) is also an option. I have trouble buying gear for myself, let alone my husband buying for me.

Good luck!

I agree, it is quite hard to find a proper fitting jacket as a female. Unless you can find one that is high quality and fully adjustable... I mean wrist areas, sides, back, etc. I would agree with Luna C that it is better to do a gift certificate or simply make a surpise out of taking her shopping.

Thanks for the advice! What you've said makes sense. I think I'll go with a different idea and then take her shopping sometime.

I appreciate the help.

I'd like to add something but the two ladies before me pretty much covered it. Ladies gear is all over the board size wise and is difficult to fit depending on her figure, height, weight and chest size (I've tried on several jackets that fit great everywhere but the chest and the girls were getting squished)

Helmets are pretty easy to guess and fit so you could get her a helmet then gift certificate for a shopping day.
